Grill & Chill: The Perfect Backyard Burger Recipe

In celebration of National Grilling Month, we’re sharing one of our favorite summer traditions — complete with a recipe that brings the flavor home.

There’s something special about summer evenings in your own backyard — cold drinks, music playing, and the sizzle of a juicy burger on the grill. Whether you’re hosting a gathering or just treating yourself, this recipe is a crowd-pleaser.

Tidewater’s Backyard BBQ Burger

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 is perfect for juicy burgers)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 brioche buns
  • Toppings: cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, ketchup, mustard, or your faves!

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  2. In a bowl, mix beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce.
  3. Form into 4 equal patties, slightly wider than your buns (they shrink a bit!).
  4. Grill 4–5 minutes per side or until desired doneness. Add cheese during the last minute if desired.
  5. Toast buns lightly on the grill.
  6. Assemble with your favorite toppings and enjoy!
