How Successful Realtors Spend Their Mornings

As a realtor, you’ve undoubtedly read about or seen the reports of how the most successful business people spend their time. For most of those people, it begins with a healthy start to their morning and a routine or regimen that is consistent and powerful day-to-day.

While there’s always room for sales improvement, you can definitely take a page out of the books of successful business pioneers. Here are some ways realtors should spend their mornings.

Wake Up Early

One of the trends among successful businesspeople across the world is that they are early birds. If you’re one of those folks who constantly reaches for the snooze button or demands that extra 10 minutes of sleep, consider waking up early. Rising early, in essence, creates more time in your day.

Ex Navy SEAL Jocko Willink, for example, preaches getting up early every day. Essentially, getting up early creates time for you in your day since no one else is awake to bother you and gives you an early jump on the day’s activities.

Make Your Bed

Before you do anything, make your bed.

At least that’s what Admiral William H. McRaven encouraged the 2014 graduating class at the University of Texas to do. According to McRaven, making your bed first thing in the morning sets the tone for the rest of the day. By making your bed, you’ve accomplished the first task of the day which leads to more completed tasks as your day progresses.

If you’re like most in the real estate industry, you are faced with many tasks throughout your day, some more difficult than others. So why not start your day with one easier tasks? Make your bed.

Exercise

Another one of Jocko Willink’s recommendations is to work out first thing in the morning.

If you’re not a morning person to begin with, then you may have to condition yourself just to wake up earlier, but that alone is worth the effort. An early morning workout clears your mind, gives you a significant jump on the day, and ensures that you’re not pushing off physical exercise to the end of the day when you’re out of time.

If you’re new to early morning workouts, start simply and build to allow your body to adjust to the new stress you’re putting it under. The physical and mental gains you achieve will be well worth your time.

Take Time For Yourself

Successful people make time for themselves, and the morning is the best place for this. This suggestion can fall into many areas of your day whether personal or in your business life but will be felt throughout the day in the area you choose.

Time for yourself can be exercise (as we’ve mentioned above), meditation, working on personal projects or goals, establishing plans and strategies for your real estate business, or working on business items completely unrelated. Whatever you choose to do, take time for yourself and make it something both meaningful and separate from your day-to-day grind.

Strategize for Your Clients

During your morning time, consider the clients you’re currently involved with and take some time–even if only a few minutes–to map out a plan for each one of them and make a list of how you can best help them reach their goals.

Strategizing for your clients can save you time and tasks throughout the day and give you a leg up on your competition all while helping your clients get into homes faster. Faster sales mean more efficiency for you and more closed deals.
