Perks of a Family Night In

When Friday rolls around, there are times when you’re one hundred percent ready to get dressed to the nines and go have a blast. Sometimes there is nothing better.

Then there are other times when you have absolutely no desire to wear anything other than pants with an elastic waist. Sometimes, all you want to do is curl up in bed with your favorite snacks and watch re-runs until you pass out, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. These nights staying in can be just as fun as going out. They’re even more practical during the COVID pandemic.

Comfy Clothes

The first, and probably most obvious of these perks to being a shut-in for Friday night, is not having to put on anything more than old pajamas. Staying in means those insanely comfortable stained sweatpants are more than acceptable.

No Masks

Decided to stay in? Here’s a silver lining; no mask required when you’re at home with family! Everyone is doing their part to slow the spread by wearing masks when out and about. But let’s not kid ourselves no one WANTS to wear a mask, and at home, that’s perfectly acceptable!

Satisfying Those Cravings

After a week of hard work, everyone deserves to indulge. Going out means not eating too much to make sure you’re not lethargic while jumping up and down on the dance floor. But if staying in, you can order as much takeout and delivery as you can stuff your face with. Nothing’s getting shaken up if you’re curled up on the couch.

Quality Time With Family

If staying in on the weekend, you don’t have to do it alone. Relaxing with family at home with some pizza and movies is sometimes twice as much fun as hitting the town together. In such a comfy, quiet place compared to a noisy, bustling party, you’re bound to grow much closer and make memories together you’ll actually remember (and be safer too).

Dinner and a Movie

It used to be, $40 was more than enough for dinner and a movie date night. Nowadays, not so much. With the advantage of streaming services that have thousands of movies at our fingertips and food we’ve already got at home, date night just got a lot cheaper, safer, and frankly, comfier!
