Prepare Your HVAC For The Colder Weather

As temperature drops, save your electricity costs in heat with these tips to prepare your HVAC for Fall & Winter!

  • Look Over Heat Pumps – Check for obstructions that would prevent proper air flow along pipes & cover your heat pump to prevent damage from heavy snow or ice.
  • Check Thermostats – Replace batteries to ensure your thermostat will work all winter & program digital thermostats to cut heat on & off within a given time.
  • Replace Air Filers – To ensure air flow isn’t clogged, replace or clean air filters throughout your home to ensure proper air flor for best efficiency.
  • Scan Heating Ducts – Survey your ductwork for any punctures, dents, or disconnections to prevent spikes in your electricity bill as warm air is blown out or wasted.
  • Have Your HVAC Serviced – Aside from checking heating ducts, an HVAC contractor should inspect the heating system belts, motors, electrical switches, thermostats and gas pressures.

We hope these tips help you save money during those chilly months!
