Now that the cold, gloomy winter has begun to pass away, spring is near with warmer days, breezy afternoons, and abundant sunshine. As a homeowner, though, the light spring brings to your home can highlight some of the damage winter left behind. As the seasons change here is a checklist for your spring home maintenance projects.
Interior
- Test all batteries in smoke and carbon dioxide detectors.
- Change filters in the kitchen exhaust hood as well as in the refrigerator.
- Be sure all air vents inside and out are not blocked by debris.
- Clean windows and screens. Check for any damage and replace it if necessary.
- Replace the furnace filter.
Exterior
- Inspect the roof for water damage and clean gutters of all build up.
- Check fences and shed for any needed repairs.
- Check for damaged siding and peeling paint.
- Rejuvenate your lawn by aerating, thatching and fertilizing.
