Summer Marketing Tips

Summer is here, but that doesn’t mean your marketing should take a vacation. Here are some seasonally simple marketing ideas that can help you connect with potential clients:

Attend local festivals, fairs and parade routes with season-related merchandise giveaways like can cozies, hand-held fans or water bottles branded with your logo and social media feed.

Reinvent the summer camp by hosting an event for your target audience or their kids. Give the community insight into what you do, or help them gain new skills related to your product or service. Financial literacy, introduction to real estate, investing or “how it’s made” are all popular subjects. Partner with other non-competing businesses with the same target audience to develop a daylong event and split the costs.

Client appreciation BBQ events are always a hit, and often less expensive than other fully catered events. Don’t forget to offer games or entertainment. Another budget-friendly way to show summer love to your clients is to host an ice cream social or an evening movie at the park.

Help a local charity by soliciting donations at all your hosted events or provide lunch for a community cleanup event or “trash day.” Make sure to get the word out via local media and social media so you get a few more hands-on-deck, as well as some free PR.

Be a matchmaker by treating two of your contacts who could benefit from a connection to lunch. They will appreciate the potential help or business, and you will solidify your reputation as a loyal and thoughtful professional.
