Got Cabin Fever? Check Out These Events Near You

For many of us, the winter months are in full force and getting outdoors and avoiding cabin fever is paramount to staying both sane and healthy during the dark, cold winter days and nights.  Sometimes, though, finding events near you that satisfy both your need to get out of the house and your desire for quality entertainment can be a little tough.

If you’ve got cabin fever, check out these ways to find events near you:

  1. Evensi

While probably not the biggest most metropolitan-focused event app, Evensi has a lot of events for not only large cities but small towns as well.  Boasting over 100 million published events, Evensi suits virtually any event seeker in virtually any area.  Simply go to Evensi’s website to get started by searching for events by zip code and date.  From there, the site generates a list of events meeting your criteria with details on each.

  1. Facebook

Facebook has rapidly expanded its local search area to include a marketplace for selling items and streamlining event search for local activities.  Many retailers, organizations, and Facebook pages post their events to the platform and make them easy to find, RSVP for, and even purchase passes or tickets.

Find Facebook events by clicking the “Events” tab on the lefthand side of your screen.  Additionally, you can download Facebook’s Local app where you can find local events through Facebook’s search engine and find events near your current location.  This is a great option for people who spend a significant amount of time traveling.

  1. Eventbrite

Eventbrite is one of the most popular event-finding platforms out there, and many musicians and artists use it to promote their shows.  Similar to Evensi, you can browse events in your local area and many events will give you costs for the events and a link to buy tickets.  Eventbrite really is a one-stop shop for finding local events.

  1. Songkick

For the music and concert lovers out there, Songkick is a great place to find the best concerts in your local area.  Songkick, available for Android and iOS, can help you find shows from the artists you like by using your music libraries as a starting point.  Give Songkick access to your Apple Music or Spotify, and you’ll be notified when your favorite bands are in town.

  1. StubHub

StubHub isn’t just for buying second hand Cleveland Browns tickets anymore.  It’s a comprehensive event ticketing database.  Much like any of the other local event finders, you can use StubHub’s search engine to find concerts, sporting events, or other major-ticket shows in your local area.  Additionally, you can set price alerts, buy on the fly, and download tickets straight to your phone.  Easy as pie!
